Another new bank logo is set to appear on smartphone screens, with Teachers Mutual Bank Limited creating its own neobank– to be called Hiver – that will target as customers essential workers who fought in the front lines against the corona virus.
It is the first time a mutual, or customer-owned, bank in Australia has created a digital bank brand. Teachers Mutual CEO Steve James said he hopes to lure some customers from the big four, especially those in the healthcare, emergency services and teaching professions looking for digital banking options among a community of similar workers.
